Gabriel Harrison’s Girlfriend Attempts Suicide
Effie Mok, the makeup stylist girlfriend of former TVB star Gabriel Harrison (海俊傑), attempted suicide by swallowing 30 sleeping pills and left behind two written farewell notes. Fortunately, Effie was rescued by Gabriel just in time, and she was immediately taken to the hospital.
Gabriel, a former TVB actor, debuted under TVB’s New Talent Singing contest in 1994, and later released an album under Capital Artists. He is best known for his role as Cheung Yat Fei in 1997’s Detective Investigation Files III <刑事偵緝檔案III>.
According to various reports, 41-year-old Gabriel and 28-year-old Effie have been living together for over a year and a half. On August 22, Gabriel and Effie attended a birthday party in Central, and the couple did not leave for home until 3 a.m. the next morning.
Sources say that Effie’s attempted suicide was due to a fight the couple had at the birthday party. Gabriel and Effie were confronted with relationship problems and the two heatedly argued. Most likely influenced by the alcoholic beverages, Gabriel and Effie’s small argument eventually propelled to a big fight, and it took great effort for their friends to calm them down.
It was reported that after returning to their Cyberport home, Effie refused to let Gabriel sleep in the bedroom. Gabriel did not check on Effie until 6:30 in the morning, when he discovered Effie lying unconscious on their bed. Beside her laid a bottle of sleeping pills and two farewell notes, alluding that she had attempted suicide.
Reporters tried to contact Gabriel via phone, but Gabriel never responded.

I almost forgotten him. Is he still in entetainment industry?
He mostly appear on RTHK dramas now.
He’s actually a pretty good singer. The last time I saw him was when his brother auditioned on The Voice season 1. His brother did not do too well but nonetheless there was an at home interview and Gabriel was there.
The first time i saw him was in this long series with dicky cheung, gallen lo and andy hui… can’t remember the title.
His face structure reminds me of Ben Wong.
Glad he saved her in time, though she clearly has problems and might try it again.
He is actually a good singer.. pretty good with villain roles too… too bad he is not successful.
Wonder why his career didn’t take off. he’s good looking and a good actor. Much better than a lot of the siu sangs in TVB these days.
cuz he’s pretty short 🙁
don’t think he was willing to take the small roles much longer. LOL
Lol, he’s 5’7.
And Flora Chan’s cousin, I think
he’s from boston. i remember hearing people around the area kept talking about him when i was growing up. how he won a singing award in boston and went back to hk
I’ve been wondering where he went, he was really good in Relentless Justice as the semi-villain. Another talented actor that was underrated.
So he is a mixed?
There is nothing more important than one’s own life. I hope she learnt her lesson.
he doesn’t look mix..
i think his father was half chinese, half white. so he’s a quarter.
>he doesn’t look mix..
if you wear your glasses – he ll looked mix
He definitely looks mixed. I thought he was 100% European at first and thought that Jaynestars was starting to have news about foreigners here.
His father is half German of full I don’t remember but he is definitely mixed
Yes forgotton about him after all these years….
Is he retired??? Which TVB series did he act in??
Hes mostly filming RTHK series.
Does anyone still watch RTHK these days? The most recent(ish) drama I saw him in was the one starring Leila Tong, John Chiang and Gordon Liu. They were a bunch of room-mates and it’s a pretty neat little series that depicts some of the social issues in HK today. I actually liked it much more than Inbound Troubles.
Wasn’t he involved in several scandals? One regarding sexual harassment too?
Seems like he’s just plagued with bad news…
Dunno and not sure about the bad news, but uh the only I recognize him in film is in Kungfu Soccer (which also stars Dicky Cheung, Anthony Wong, Sandra Ng and Twins duo), where he played as Fok Kam (Huo Jin), the one with Incredible Shadow Steps.. haha
I remember him with Bobby and Roger and Easin wife tv series. He was a bad guy there.
I didn’t know he was mixed. Everyone is will be mixed in 100 years from now.
Yeah, he was given mostly vilain roles. Not easy to make it big once your a hated face. I found him good looking when I was younger too. Shame things didnt take off for him.
He’s handsome.
I always thought he was quite a good looker while he was young
