Grace Chan Ends Contract with TVB

Finding her niche as a social media influencer in recent years, 33-year-old Grace Chan (陳凱琳), actress and Miss Hong Kong 2013 pageant double winner, revealed in a recent event that she had ended her contract with TVB back in end 2024!

Since tying the knot in 2018, Grace and husband, actor Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) welcomed three sons. While reducing her onscreen appearances, Grace steadily positioned herself as a KOL, leveraging on her celebrity and healthy image as a wife and mother, to emerge as one of the top-earning influencers in Hong Kong.

When asked why she did not make news of her departure from TVB public, Grace explained that she deliberately kept a low profile and emphasized that she is on good terms with TVB, and is open to future work opportunities, such as being an emcee host for the Miss Hong Kong pageant. As she is now free from contractual commitments, Grace also reiterated that she is open to working with any platform, and any celebrity.

On ignoring news of marital discord

Holding as many as thirty commercial endorsements at one point, Grace was named the top-earning KOL, while her strong social media following across platforms attesting to her immense online popularity (Instagram: 799K, Facebook: 200K, Xiaohongshu (RedNote): 429K, Douyin: 519K). Putting her finger in different segments of the KOL market including skincare and makeup, parenting, and even cooking and recipes, Grace’s photo and video posts have struck a chord with fans and audiences, attracting many likes.

As Kevin appeared to have less onscreen projects in comparison with Grace’s active online presence, there were sensational headlines at one point claiming that “Grace announces divorce while In tears”, or that Grace was “working hard to support Kevin Cheng”.

Responding to these farmed contents, the former actress clarified that she would not even bother to click in and read these fake news, and laughingly said that the articles were “a practice in strengthening her EQ”. Often updating with happy photos of the family of five, it was apparent that Grace and Kevin are a picture of marital bliss.
