Grace Chan to Compete for Miss Chinese International

Miss Hong Kong winner Grace Chan (陳凱琳) announced that she will be competing for the 2014 Miss Chinese International pageant this coming January. The 22-year-old will be Hong Kong’s entry in the international competition.

She expressed that she is quite nervous and feels pressure about the competition, but will work hard on her performance and improve her talents. Grace does not think it is necessary for her to gain weight, as she feels that it is more important give a commendable performance and be well-prepared for the question and answer segment. “I’m working on training my talents. I would be playing the flute.”

On the other hand, Miss Hong Kong first runner-up Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) will be focused on her acting career in TVB. She has recently been cast in Ox Head Loves Horse Mouth <牛頭愛搭馬嘴>, an upcoming comedy drama starring Johnson Lee (李思捷) and Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘). She expressed her wishes on wanting to share scenes with Johnson, saying, “I really want to learn about acting from [seniors], so we can exchange thoughts and discuss about it. I know when it comes to acting, chemistry is very important. There should be chemistry between an actor with experience and a rookie actor, as the senior will be able to bring the best out of the rookie. With a senior’s help, I can get more proficient.”

Sisley said she is not worried about being rumored with Johnson, adding, “The rumors wouldn’t be real anyways. I’m not scared. It’s just for laughs.”

The 22-year-old is currently studying acting through analyzing TVB television dramas and reading textbooks. Asked if she has noticed any of TVB’s goofs, she said, “It’s hard to catch them. Only people who view them over and over are able to catch them. I think that as long as the script is good, there’s no need for the entertainment [industry] to be that persistent.”

      1. “..and be well-prepared for the question and answer segment.”

I’ve always wondered- how does one prepare for Q&A segment? Just watch over previous pageants to absorb what the questions are like or something o_O??

    2. When you judge anyone’s looks, it is not just the face but the whole package. Grace has a cute face, but her body is way too skinny.

      1. The whole package includes intelligence. Grace Chan is very intelligent.

    3. Hahaha, HK will sure lose this time.
Count yourself lucky if she can enter top 3.
She will be in top 5 though, as the judges are also all from Hongkong, and they put Miss HK into the top 5 every year, year after year, in all the years.

You put a ‘pig’ in there also will come up top 5. LOL.

      1. Well there is nothing wrong with her- there is no standard for normal, and proportion varies from culture to culture.

  2. so shocking when i read elaine yiu dating johnson lee…really thought they both have partners earlier?

    1. They are not dating. He was holding her hand cuz it was her birthday

  3. She’s pretty.. and very calm and collected on stage.. HK might have a chance to rank in top 3.

  5. she is super gorgeous. If she was slightly taller, she would be a shoe in for the crown.

I’m betting on her as the winner, provided there won’t be a candidate whose beauty matches hers but with a taller and fuller physique.
