“Guilt by Design” Released Trailer Starring Nick Cheung
Upcoming Hong Kong film Guilt by Design <催眠·裁決> stars Nick Cheung (張家輝) as a hypnotist who is blackmailed into influencing a panel of jury in a high-profile court case after his daughter is kidnapped. With a star-studded cast that includes Kent Cheng (鄭則士), Hans Zhang (張翰), Elaine Jin (金燕玲), Jolane Koo (谷祖琳), Babyjohn Choi (蔡瀚億) and Cecilia So (蘇麗珊), this thriller will keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
The released trailer teases viewers with action-packed scenes filled with gunfights, explosions, car chases and hypnotic illusions. In one scene, Nick uses hypnotism to influence the jury to reverse their verdict. While a jury member begins to suspect they are being manipulated, it is not long until one of them gets poisoned. As the suspense builds up, viewers will be hooked to seeing how the truth will be revealed.
Guilt by Design has a strong production team helming the project. Produced by Derek Yee (爾冬陞), the movie is co-directed by a trio of new directors, Kenneth Lai (黎兆鈞), Paul Sze (施柏林) and Wing Tai Liu (劉永泰) who are aspiring to add their fresh takes to the industry.
In addition, many members of the production team have awards under their belts, including production designer Yee Chung Man (奚仲文) who is known for his work in the Curse of the Golden Flower <满城尽带黄金甲>, video editor Curran Pang (彭正熙) who worked on Internal Affairs <无间道>, and action choreographer Chin Ka Lok (錢嘉樂) who is known for Motorway <車手>.
