Gulnezer Bextiyar Wows with Her Beauty
Possessing an ethereal beauty, newcomer Gulnezer Bextiyar (古力娜扎), also known as Gu Li Na Zha, is making a splash in the Mainland Chinese entertainment industry. The 22-year-old undergraduate at the Beijing Film Academy owes her deep-set yet delicate features to her Uighur heritage.
Gulnezer first entered the scene through participating in a model contest in 2009, where she won the “Most Photogenic” award. She then auditioned for the Beijing Film Academy in 2011 and her beauty caught the eye of the media. Through the exposure gained from the audition, she was also talent-scouted by Tangren Media Ltd and was signed even before she passed her audition.
While juggling full-time university studies, Gulnezer was involved in filming Xuan Yuan Sword: Scar of Sky <軒轅劍之天之痕>. Impressively, Gulnezer managed to catch the public’s attention even amongst the star-studded cast consisting of Hu Ge (胡歌) and Cecilia Liu (刘诗诗). Netizens were generally divided into two camps – those who thought her look was unsuitable for a period drama, and those who were in awe of her beauty. Gulnezer subsequently had more opportunities to work with A-listers, including starring in one of Jay Chou‘s (周杰倫) music videos and having minor roles in big-budget films such as Police Story 2013 <警察故事2013>.
As Gulnezer’s popularity began to rise, details her family background were revealed. Although this was never confirmed by Gulnezer herself, her father is allegedly one of the ten wealthiest tycoons in Xinjiang. Other more unsavoury rumou]rs include allegations of plastic surgery, although these were quickly dispelled when Gulnezer uploaded a childhood photo of herself with the same pretty features.
A pretty girl like Gulnezer is naturally not without romantic rumors. Her latest rumored paramour is Hans Zhang (張翰). Allegedly, Hans was spotted touring Paris with Gulnezer not long after breaking up with his ex-girlfriend, Zheng Shuang (鄭爽). Many netizens thus expressed doubt about this budding romance. Of course, neither party has admitted to the alleged romance.
Aaron Kwok (郭富城), who is known for his interest in pretty models, is also impressed by Gulnezer’s beauty and has been following her on Weibo.

No. In general not all Chinese females in China look all pretty – just like every country in the world. 🙂
She is pretty but not drop dead gorgeous. Her looks is obviously from her heritage. She looks like a cross between Yang Mi and Grace Chan and a lot of mixed blood in between but I do think she looks as her heritage dictates. There are a lot of pretty girls in China, whether real or not, question is how does she sound and can she act? If she can’t, I don’t care if she is drop dead gorgeous.
