Reaching new heights in their career with the buzz of historical drama Destined <長風渡> two years back, Chinese celebrities Bai Jingting (白敬亭) and Song Yi (宋軼) took their sizzling onscreen romance offscreen, traveled together and were even rumored to have met the in-laws. However, it appeared that the two have since ended their relationship.

Despite dating for two years, Bai Jingting and Song Yi never publicly acknowledged their relationship. However, they were often seen wearing matching outfits, enjoying ice cream together, and were photographed by paparazzi returning to the same residence. Just when the public thought their relationship was strong, early this year, Bai Jingting faced negative press for hogging center position on stage during the Lunar New Year Gala, and dressing in black.

Since then, the couple has hardly interacted, and netizens noticed they posted less and less photos together. Recently, industry insiders revealed on social media that Bai Jingting and Song Yi have indeed ended their relationship due to spending too much time apart and personality differences. Apparently, Song Yi preferred quiet environments while Bai Jingting enjoyed lively settings. While they had been attracted to each other due to complementary personalities at the beginning of the relationship, their differences became more apparent once both parties’ workloads increased, leading them to drift apart.

Netizens pointed out that Bai Jingting seemed wary of affecting his career chances by going public, while Song Yi’s fans, already triggered that the 30-year-old was often rumored with many of the female co-stars he worked with, was supportive of the breakup.
