Hins Cheung to Perform Nude in Anthony Wong’s Play?

Starring in Antony Wong’s (黄秋生) new theater production, Hins Cheung (張敬軒) is speculated to perform nude for the role.

Hins held a recent gathering at home and invited Anthony, Isabella Leung (梁洛施), Kenny Kwan (關智斌) and theatre director Olivia Yan (甄詠蓓). Anthony even cooked French cuisine personally for the group. When everyone thought that the gathering was to celebrate Anthony’s god-daughter Isabella making a comeback, in reality it was a celebration for Hins because he has agreed to act in Anthony’s theater play.

Reports said that Hins has agreed to participate in Anthony’s theater adaptation of Equus, a famous overseas play where the biggest selling point is the main lead acto’s nude horseback riding scene. In 2008, Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe (丹尼爾) played the lead role and went naked for the play, which created much hype at that time.

After seeing Hins in one of Leslie Cheung’s (張國榮) memoirs, Anthony was keen on recruiting Hins to be part of this play. Anthony was impressed with Hins performance and offers him the part of Alan Strang in Equus. After a few days of consideration, Hins readily agreed to play the part and learn from the master. The play is slated to go on stage in May next year.

Hins is quite fond of going topless for photo shoots and frequently post these photos on Weibo, displaying his lean 130 pounds body. He will have an opportunity to bare his skin before a live audience.

The female lead is speculated to be Charmine Fong (方皓文), who acted as Patty in the 2012 movie Love in the Buff <春嬌與志明>. It seems that Anthony has the intention to promote new faces for theatrical production.

In related news, Hins allegedly had a disagreement with his wealthy businessman godfather-manager, Chan Ting Lai (陳鼎禮), but apparently the dispute has now been resolved.
