“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” Climbs in Ratings as It Nears Finale
Becoming an instant hit since its premiere in August, Korean drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha hit a new milestone as ratings climbed an all-time high to 11.6 percent. After Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah‘s characters officially start dating, his mysterious past comes back to haunt him.
Hong Du Sik (Kim Seon Ho) has been consumed by guilt over the deaths of people whom he felt directly responsible. While working in Seoul in the finance industry, he was mentored by a senior colleague whom he was very close with. When Du Sik’s grandfather passed away, the colleague helped with funeral arrangements and setting up the sacrificial table.
When the investments that Du Sik managed for a client lost a lot of money, his client attempted suicide. Du Sik’s senior colleague offered to drive him to help the client, but instead the two got involved in a fatal car accident. Du Sik watched in horror as his colleague died in the driver’s seat.
After the senior colleague passed away, his wife continued to blame Du Sik for his death and screamed, “You should have been the one who died instead!” For years, Du Sik was unable to forget the traumatic death and lived with heavy guilt as the survivor.
As the truth behind Du Sik’s five-year disappearance was unveiled, viewers stayed glued to their screens. With Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha airing its finale on October 17, many hope that Du Sik can overcome his past to find happiness with Yoon Hye Jin (Shih Min Ah).

I watched this drama and indeed is nice and relaxing, watching this drama also lift up my mood and makes me happy, until episode 15 and 16 which is really sad esp when the grandma passed away. I find the scene for the funeral procession really unnecessary tho. The actor looks so good in this drama, but too bad now he is embroiled in a scandal.
