Hong Kong’s Waikin Kwan Wins “Mister International” Second Runner-Up
The 13th annual Mister International male beauty pageant was held in Manila, Philippines on Sunday, February 14. 24-year-old Trịnh Văn Bảo from Vietnam beat out 39 others to win the title as Mister International. 21-year-old Francesco Piscitelli from Venezuela won first runner-up, and 26-year-old Waikin Kwan (關偉健) from Hong Kong won second runner-up. Waikin is the first Hong Kong contestant to get placed in international male beauty pageants.
Waikin is a personal trainer and model. With his charming smile and muscular body, he maintained his popularity throughout the pageant season.
“I was shocked,” he said in regards to winning second runner-up. “My goal was to enter the top 10, now I’m in third place. It’s a pleasant surprise! Mister Vietnam is a good friend of mine, so I’m very proud of him.”
The season had been a fulfilling and unforgettable journey for him. The entire process had matured and grounded him. He added that the people of the Philippines had been friendly and welcoming. “We received enthusiastic welcomes everywhere we went,” said Waikin. “It’s unforgettable!”
