How Louisa Mak Proposed to Pilot Boyfriend

Dating for three years, Miss Hong Kong 2015 winner Louisa Mak (麥明詩) and pilot Keith Shing (盛勁為) are getting married. After a photographer accidentally posted a photo of Louisa  getting ready for her engagement photos, the couple officially announced their engagement. Sharing their journey from friendship to love, Keith also shockingly revealed Louisa had proposed to him!

Keith wrote on social media, “In the past, I thought I would be single forever. Being free to do whatever I wanted sounded pretty good. Just when I thought I had a stable job, the pandemic caused me to suddenly be unemployed. It turns out that I’m not as strong as I thought I was.

“At that time, we were just acquaintances but you heard of my situation and said, ‘Since you’re free now, do you want to try working part time at TVB? Treat it as a chance to see different things and meet girls!’ The moment I heard girls, I was like this is perfect! This led to me filming #Young and Restless <生仔傾吓偈> and taking part in the See Me Fly Again <衝上雲霄大選> competition. I even was an extra on a drama.

“I saw many beautiful girls but in the end I only got to know one girl, and she was one I already knew…From the beginning, we didn’t think of pursuing a romantic relationship with each other but as we talked, we realized how well we got along. The most mind- blowing part is that I’ve never met a beautiful girl who has no temper, works hard, and is understanding.”

Finding his soul mate in Louisa, Keith is ecstatic, “When I’m with you, not one moment is wasted. Each day we hang out like we’re best friends. We swim, play ball, ski, and hike together. You’re the perfect combination of a lover and friend. I am really, really lucky to have met you.”

As Louisa is known for her confidence and taking initiatives, Keith joked, “If we get married, you’ll need to propose to match your personality. I really didn’t think that you would remember what I said and actually propose to me.”

Keith is grateful for sticking by him through thick and thin, especially during the time when he had no work as a pilot during the pandemic. “You appeared when I most needed support, and I’ll remember this for the rest of my life. I’m sure we’ll face many obstacles in the future but as long as we are together we can get through it. There is a moment that is engrained in my memory from when we first started dating. You said, ‘You haven’t resumed work yet, let me treat you for dinner. Once you start flying again, you can treat me to all the dinners.’ I hope I’ll be able to treat you to dinner for the rest of your life.”

Keith posted a video of Louisa proposing to him with an Audemars Piguet watch. The couple’s faces were flushed with excitement. It turns out that Keith had already proposed to her earlier on a beach in Sydney. In the post Louisa captioned as #WeSaidYes, Keith humorously proposed with a huge plastic ring before bringing out the real one while she cried and laughed at his antics. She later fulfilled her promise that she would propose to him for marriage.
