Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy Continue Charity Efforts Together
China’s model couple Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明) and Angelababy (楊穎) may have triggered a lot of debate with their extravagant “wedding of the century”, but they are definitely using their fame for good.
After taking the entertainment circle by storm with their 200 million RMB Shanghai wedding last month, newlyweds Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy went straight back to work. But the famous couple, known for their activism and philanthropy, decided to work together to support the needy elderly in Qingdao, Shandong.
Qingdao is Xiaoming’s hometown, and it is also where Xiaoming and Angelababy registered their marriage in May. Over the years, Xiaoming has set up non-profit organizations all over Qingdao. Just this past Lunar New Year, Xiaoming and Angelababy spent their holidays volunteering around the city to help elderly men and women who are without families.
Earlier this week, the couple, dressed in black, returned to Qingdao to visit the elderly. They also donated a huge sum of money to a series of elementary schools and interacted with its students, giving them scarves as gifts. The couple even took over the classroom, acting as teachers for the kids!

Well even if they’re doing charity just for show, unlike Louis Koo who rarely publicizes his philanthropy, at least somebody benefits from their star power.

totally agree. they are really trying to make headlines with their charity work. how they donated everything in the wedding, the favors and money. i really doubt that their sole interest is really charity.
This couple is so desperate for publicity though! I doubt their purpose of doing charity is merely giving back to the community but instead it’s a chance for them to get more publicity. There are so many artistes who does charity on the down low such as Louis Koo. Louis actually built several schools in China without uttering a word about it to the public or inviting the camera crew to shoot him while he does charity like Angelababy and HXM.
@vlol Totally agree.. reason why I am not a fan this couple… all their work seem fake and attention seeking.. but I guess at least at the end, these charity do benefits from it so can’t say it’s all bad.
@happybi @viol. I totally agree. This couple is smart. Of course they did ii for publicity. They are both attention addicts. They also did it this way to avoid backlash. They made it look like they are giving to charity out of the goodness of their heats.

If wanna donate and charity, pls go ahead lar. Why need to ask the receivers to stand and pose for cameras??? I don’t feel blissful for the receivers at all. Why do I felt pity to them, looking like they are being used for publicity stunts by this attention seeking couple????
