Hubert Wu, Regina Ho Brighten Up the Set of TVB’s “Return of the Cuckoo” Remake
TVB’s remake of Return of the Cuckoo <十月初五的月光> has officially started filming. The lead cast member including Hubert Wu (胡鴻鈞), Regina Ho (何依婷), Joey Law (羅天宇), Shek Sau (石修), and Michelle Yim (米雪) were seen at a blessing ceremony in Lau Fau Shan, New Territories, where the series will be set.
Hubert Wu will star as Man Chor, who was played by Chilam Cheung (張智霖) in the original 2000 series. Regina Ho will play Kwan Ho, previously played by Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼). Joey Law succeeds Steven Ma (馬浚偉) as Szeto Lai Sun.
“I already told the producer to cut all of our [intimate] scenes,” joked Hubert when asked about being intimate with his onscreen partner, Regina. His costar said, “That’s great, because I really don’t want to those scenes with him.” Both of them then suggested that they would rather do intimate scenes with Joey Law.
Referring to Regina as a “senior”, Hubert shared that he did his homework by watching her performance in Airport Strikers <機場特警>. Regina, who debuted in 2017, made a stab at Hubert by mentioning his rumored girlfriend, saying, “You didn’t watch that drama for me, you watched it for Sisley Choi (蔡思貝)!”
Regina said she doesn’t mind Hubert teasing her, sharing, “I bully him enough in the drama!”
Return of the Cuckoo was first released in 2000, and starred Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Chilam Cheung, Charmaine Sheh, and Steven Ma. The 20-episode romantic drama series was a household hit, further boosting the careers of the main leads. In 2015, a film sequel was released, starring the original cast.

No offense, but this already sounds terrible. None of the actors or actresses sound any good. Lol, TVB tarnishing another classic drama. What’s next? Files of Justice remake? Looking Back in Anger remake?
i am not digging that regina girl. she was very annoying in the girly days show and don’t have the lead lady look. she has an annoying little sister look.
OK. This is not going to end well….This is a real classic with a very well-loved cast. There’s going to be very high expectations (however unfair that might be) plus this group is just not ready. Whyyyyyy? I just don’t understand this particular casting decision.
