“I’m Not An Immortal” Confirms Cast

Crystal Liu (劉亦菲) and Dylan Wang (王鶴棣) have been confirmed to be pairing up for new xianxia drama, I’m Not An Immortal <我不成仙>!

Set in the Vast Three Thousand Worlds
Adapted from the novel of the same name by Chinese writer Shi Jing (時鏡), who was also behind The Story of Kunning Palace <宁安如梦>, the two will stage a reincarnation drama with sadomasochism theme.

The cast’s acting is set to be tested by the heart-wrenching twists and turns, while the confirmed pairing between popular idol Dylan and Crystal, fresh off a string of C-drama successes, already has fans palpably anticipating their chemistry and dynamics! The story describes the heroine Xian Jian Chou (Liu Yifei) who originally lived a plain but happy life with her scholarly husband Xie Buchen (Dylan Wang) in her past life.

When she turns three months pregnant, Xie Buchen who had embarked on the path of cultivating towards immortality, was mistakenly led to believe that his path could only be ruthlessly fulfilled. In order to prove his commitment, he made the extreme decision to fatally stab his wife, the innocent Jianchou, killing their child. Unexpectedly she awakens after her death, and serendipitously starts on her own immortality journey.

Under the guidance of her master, she discovered that she was gifted to attain immortality. However, when the time came around for her to pick a sword, no spiritual sword was willing to claim its owner ; this made her realize that she lost her soul post-rebirth, and is destined to die early, unless the matter is satisfactorily resolved.

In seeking the resolution, she reunites with Xie Buchen, and the two are once again romantically entangled. Meanwhile she gradually understands how much weight she holds in his heart, as the complication between them only deepens.
