Stars in Youku-TVB Collaboration “The Queen of Castle”

Best remembered for her role as Ma Zi Ni in 2012 long-form drama Come Home Love <愛.回家>, actress Angel Chiang (蔣家旻) left an impression on viewers as the younger version of Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) in the drama When Heaven Burns <天與地>, and most recently earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her antagonist role in 2022’s The Beauty of War <美麗戰場>.

With swirling talk that the actress and her producer boyfriend will be getting married overseas at the end of the month, Angel, who is one of the female leads for TVB headline drama The Queen of Castle <巨塔之后>, only confirmed that she has filming commitments in Prague, keeping mum about the upcoming wedding gossip.

Approached by the media at the airport on Friday, September 6, her first public appearance following the marriage rumors, Angel laughingly acknowledged that while she felt “at a loss” on how she should respond to the many congratulatory messages she received lately – as if she were really getting married in Prague, she also felt her friends’ genuine happiness for her. “I’ve always kept a low profile on my personal matters, I’d shared (about the romance) at the beginning of the year, only because I felt it’s pretty stable,” said Angel, who lets on that she would be sure to share any updates.

Prefers a No-Frill Wedding Ceremony

Next on her filming schedule, was a castle wedding at Prague also her idea of the perfect wedding then?

While she had aspired to a castle-themed wedding when younger, the actress shared that she has had a change in perspective now. “I realized while it feels really happy at a castle…as I prefer things simpler, and not so fanciful”. While she has yet to publicly announce wedding bells, the actress will wrap up filming officially on completing her Prague scenes, and therefore have plenty of time on her hands!

The Queen of Castle, a TVB-Youku collaboration also stars Jessica Hsuan (宣萱), Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Alice Chan (陳煒) and Moon Lau (劉佩玥).
