Jacky Cheung, Jay Chou, and G-Dragon to Perform at Regional Charity Concert?
They are part of the rumored lineup of artistes at an upcoming virtual performance.
Following the “One World: Together at Home” global charity concert event led by Lady Gaga to thank frontline workers battling the Covid-19 pandemic, the China Charity Federation has announced a mega concert on May 15 to be held simultaneously in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo.
According to Mainland Chinese reports, the country’s administration has approved a collaboration between the federation and international organizations as well as media outlets for the six-hour musical performance, scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. in the evening to 12 midnight on May 15. Celebrities who have reportedly been invited to perform at the upcoming event include King of K-Pop G-Dragon, popular Taiwanese singer Jay Chou (周杰倫), and acclaimed Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung (張學友). An official press release next week will confirm the first lineup of artistes.
Aimed at offering both financial and emotional support, funds raised through the concert will go towards World Health Organisation (WHO), global frontline medical workers, needy families impacted by the coronavirus, and especially families of medical staff who have died from Covid-19.
