Jaycee Chan Still Missing in the Trailers for “Monk Comes Down the Mountain”
Although Jaycee Chan’s (房祖名) role in Chen Kaige’s (陳凱歌) Monk Comes Down the Mountain <道士下山> will not be cut, the actor was not included in the promotions for the upcoming film, which will be released in Mainland China on July 3, 2015.
Yesterday, a press conference for the film was held in Shanghai, attended by Aaron Kwok (郭富城), Chang Chen (張震), Chiling Lin (林志玲), Vanness Wu (吳建豪), Wang Baoqiang (王寶強), and Lam Suet (林雪). The cast played many party games on stage, including an app that guessed the ages of the actors. A trailer was shown at the conference, but Jaycee, who plays a pivotal role in the film, did not make an appearance.
Wearing a black tube dress, Chiling disregarded her image and played with a punching bag. Director Chen Kaige said Chiling is an underrated actress, praising, “When she comes across a suitable role, she becomes a fantastic performer.” Touched by the director’s words, Chiling said, “The male god of my heart is the director!”
In the film, Aaron Kwok and Chang Chen portray two powerful kung fu masters. Aaron shared that he will have many war scenes, while Chang Chen said he had to learn the Baijiquan for his role. “There are many powerful martial artists in this film. Besides the actors, the action choreographers are also top-notched!”
Earlier, it was rumored that Wang Baoqiang’s close friend, Detective Dee <狄仁傑之通天帝國> star Deng Chao (鄧超), committed infidelity. Baoqiang, immediately frowned and said, “Rumors are rumors. Please do not believe them.”
