Jennifer Shum Gets Married After Dating Boyfriend for Less Than One Year
It does not always takes years to figure out if someone is marriage material. For actress Jennifer Shum (岑杏賢) and her boyfriend Kelvin Cheung, they decided to get married after dating for less than a year. After getting engaged in October, the couple officially got married on November 29.
In a simple and touching ceremony, the pair signed their marriage papers with their family and close friends including Tracy Chu (朱千雪), Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), and Kayi Cheung (張嘉兒) as witnesses.
Tracy cried when she saw Jennifer in her wedding dress, “I felt so moved–she looked beautiful and I’m so happy for her! The ceremony was very simple, but it was very joyous.” Praising that Jennifer and Kelvin are a great match, Tracy said, “I hope they find forever happiness as they grow old together.”
Heartbroken by Benjamin Yuen
Jennifer’s marriage comes at the heels of her ex- boyfriend Benjamin Yuen’s (袁偉豪) marriage to Bowie Cheung (張寶兒) less than one week ago. Jennifer and Benjamin started dating in 2013 and seemed to be a perfect match, due to both from pageant backgrounds. Benjamin had previously stated that he viewed Jennifer as a potential partner for marriage.
In 2016, they both traveled to Vancouver to celebrate her family member’s birthday, and it was rumored that wedding bells were ringing. However, in November of that year, Jennifer and Benjamin suddenly announced their split. Jennifer stated that the trust and confidence between the two had been lost in their three-year relationship, “If these things no longer exist, I really don’t know how to continue the relationship.”
After breaking up with Benjamin, Jennifer went through three years of being single. In 2019, she caught the wedding bouquet at Tracy’s wedding, which seemed to have been a lucky talisman.
