Jerry Yan’s Ex-Girlfriend Reveals Past Relationship

F4’s very own Jerry Yan (言承旭) has always been very mum about his private life, and after being in the spotlight for nearly two decades, the Taiwanese superstar has admitted to only one relationship—with Chiling Lin (林志玲), who he dated on and off for 17 years.

Jerry never mentioned any of his other relationships, but recently, Taiwanese model Seanna Chang (張熙恩) finally confirmed the longtime speculations about her relationship with Jerry—she was his girlfriend for two years.

Truthfully, Jerry and Seanna had been caught together before—back in 2015, paparazzi reported that Jerry and Seanna were on vacation together in the United States, and when that was discovered, Jerry told the media that Seanna was a “very, very important friend.” He never admitted to the relationship, and Seanna also never made any more comments on her part.

But now that it’s been four years, Seanna thinks it’s about time to tell the truth.

“I had a lot of questions about our relationship,” said Seanna. “Was I not successful enough? Not popular enough? Was that why he didn’t want to go public with me?”

Seanna was Jerry’s moral support during his “darkest times,” and at one point, it was said that their relationship would have gone to the next level. However, Seanna said Jerry never proposed to her.

“In the end, I realized it’s because Jerry himself just wanted to keep a low profile,” she said. “He was a very good boyfriend. He was not clingy and gave me a lot of freedom. I got to do the things I needed to do, and learned the things I wanted.”

They rarely ever argued, but due to the nature of their work, they spent more times being separate than together. “I always wanted to be in a relationship where I could freely tell the world,” said Seanna. “We couldn’t do that, so the breakup was mutual.”

The ex-couple have remained in contact since their split, and Jerry has also been very supportive of Seanna’s career. She shared that she recently opened an art gallery, and Jerry had secretly purchased a lot of her work.
