Jessica Hsuan Will Not Have Solo Stage At Upcoming Concert
Hong Kong actresses Jessica Hsuan (宣萱), Kate Tsui (徐子珊), Candice Yu (余安安), Patricia Ha (夏文汐), and more, will be performing together for an upcoming concert that will be held at the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC) at the end of the year. The concert, titled Our Goddesses, comprises of a setlist that features iconic television drama theme songs over the years. Singers Candy Lo (盧巧音) and Kitman Mak (麥潔文) will also be performing.
To prepare for the concert, Jessica said she enlisted the help of singer Peter Cheung (張崇德) to train her. “His wife Eugina Lau (劉美娟) and I have known each other since the K-100 days. She knew I’d be doing a concert, so she got her husband to train me. I do feel that I need some training, and he made me feel that I’m not a hopeless cause.”
Even so, Jessica said she is too afraid to perform a complete song by herself, revealing that she will not be doing any solo stages at the upcoming concert. “If it’s just me standing on stage, how many people would be willing to listen? I want to do something different, and give a more light-hearted performance to entertain the audience.”
Concert preparations aside, Jessica revealed that she has become a free agent. “It’s like I’m starting from scratch again. That feeling of satisfaction is great when I successfully accept a job.” The actress said she will be choosing jobs that are suitable for her to do. She will continue to focus her career in both Hong Kong and Mainland China.
