Ji Chang Wook Stars in New Revenge Drama “The Manipulated”
Korean actor Ji Chang Wook is returning to Disney+ for The Manipulated and will be working alongside Do Kyung Soo, Lee Kwang Soo and Jo Yoon Soo.
The revenge-action drama follows Tae Joong (Ji Chang Wook) as an ordinary man who accidentally gets involved in a ruthless crime and was sent to jail. Shortly after, Tae Joong discovers that he was framed by Yo Han (Do Kyung Soo) and embarks on a path of vengeance.
Ji Chang Wook has previously worked with Disney+ in Gangnam B-Side and The Worst of Evil where he impressed the audience with his profound emotional acting skills and difficult action scenes. This time, Ji Chang Wook will be challenged with portraying a character suffering from injustice and is seeking for revenge.
While Do Kyung Soo is known for acting gentle characters such as in It’s Okay, It’s Love and Along with the Gods, the actor is changing this his image and will be playing his first villain role. The character is described as a cold manipulator who fabricates evidence to hide his crimes.
Meanwhile, Lee Kwang Soo is shifting his career away from variety shows to acting. In the drama, Lee Kwang Soo plays an important role in uncovering the truth. Rising star Jo Yoon Soo will play the role of Tae Joong’s assistant in exacting his revenge.
The drama features a strong production team helmed by screenwriter Oh Sang Ho who previously worked on Taxi Driver and The Roundup: Punishment. It will be co-directed by Park Shin Woo, whose work include The Killing Vote, and Kim Chang Ju, whose credits include Hard Hit.
Fans can look forward to The Manipulated in 2025.
