Joe Chen Puts Marriage Rumors to Rest

Reportedly dating actor Du Chun (杜淳) after working together on variety show The Greatest Love <旋風孝子>, Joe Chen (陳喬恩) is speculated to be tying the knot at the end of this year.

Although the 38-year-old Taiwanese actress was previously romantically linked to various male co-stars, Joe refused to make comments about her love life. Joe and Du Chun became quick friends on The Greatest Love, and many guests on the show teased that they would make a great couple.

Making an appearance on the show as a guest star, Joe’s mother joked, “I’m very happy that you guys decided to date.”

Du Chun’s father, who was a guest during one of the previous episodes on the show, took an immediate liking to Joe as well. When asked whom they would like to work with in the future, both Du Chun and his father quietly laughed at each other when they both chose Joe.

However, what sparked marriage rumors was a mysterious post made by a Weibo blog user, claiming that Du Chun and Joe have decided to get married at the end of the year. Causing an immediate stir online, many questioned the validity of the source and asked the original poster if these claims were true. Despite a lack of evidence to support the rumors, some fans expressed their wishes for the two to become a couple.

Responding to the rumors, Joe’s production issued a statement on September 27, “Ms. Joe Chen is still single. The rumors that claim that she is getting married at the end of the year are false. Thank you everyone for your concern and do not circulate such false rumors.”
