Joe Ma Confirmed for Shaw Brothers’ “Flying Tiger 3”
Official reports have confirmed that a third installment to the popular crime action series Flying Tiger will start filming in late May. In addition to returning cast members Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), and Oscar Leung (梁競徽), the third installment will also star Joe Ma (馬德鐘).
Flying Tiger is a series of unrelated stories that center on the Hong Kong paramilitary unit Special Duties Unit (SDU), aka the Flying Tiger Team. Much like the SWAT of the United States, the SDU is an elite tactical unit of the Hong Kong Police Department, focusing on counter terrorism, hostage rescue, underwater searches, and crimes involving firearms.
Joe Ma previously starred in TVB’s Tiger Cubs <飛虎>, a television series also about the SDU, which spawned two popular seasons.
“I was offered to do the first two installments,” shared Joe. “But I had to turn them down due to scheduling conflicts. I’m really looking forward to do the third one because I get to work with old colleagues.”
Produced by Shaw Brothers, Flying Tiger III <飛虎3壯志英雄> will also star Jeannie Chan (陳瀅) as the female lead.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Joe’s jobs in mainland China were postponed. Joe spent the last few weeks focusing on improving his health and wellbeing. “To gain muscle I’ve been adding a lot of chickpeas and quinoa in my diet,” said Joe, who is now a vegetarian. “That is my protein source. I hope I get in better shape in time for the series.”
Bosco had severely injured his foot while shooting the second installment. Asking if he had any shadows about working on the third, he said, “Not really. You have to overcome it anyways! My foot has healed a lot. I’d say at least 95 percent.”
Bosco has been keeping fit through hiking and doing resistive exercises at home. As whether or not he had asked for a higher price for the third installment, he laughed and said, “More? I’m already happy that I’m working! Miss Lok (樂易玲) is in charge of the prices!”
Flying Tiger II <飛虎之雷霆極戰> will premiere on TVB on May 18, 2020.

Thats amazing ! So many A Class Actors in this third instalment series. I usually pay attention to the male casting when it comes to action drama , for god sakes.
Male casts is great but Jeannie Chan as female lead
Joe Ma can’t even act. Lol
I liked the second installment even though the ending went off the rails.
Not sure if I can see Joe Ma the same again after what he did to his eyes…
Looking forward to watch it but Jeannie Chan is going to be the female lead really? Ugh.. boring!!! I would rather watch Vivien Yeo, Moon Lau, Candice Chiu, Mandy Wong or Elaine Yiu as the female lead or even Nancy Wu.
