Joel Chan and Kelly Cheung Hope to Win Top Awards with ICAC Investigator 2024

Appearing at the promotion event for upcoming drama ICAC Investigator 2024 <廉政行動2024>, Joel Chan (陳山聰) and Kelly Cheung (張曦雯) share details about their roles and express their confidence in winning TVB King and TVB Queen with their performance.

The crime thriller is slated to premiere next week, but will only have five episodes. Despite the short airtime schedule, Joel is optimistic of the series’ success, “Thanks to Kelly’s fortune; she is very popular now. I hope she can lend us her luck. I experience many first while filming. It was my first time filming with ICAC and in the prison. It was my first time filming with Kelly, but we had few scenes together.”

When asked if Joel is confident in competing for TVB King with his role, he responded, “How could I not have any confidence. If I get a nomination, I will fight for it. It’s better to have the opportunity to fight for it than to have no opportunity. This year, I was only going to be appearing in No Room for Crime <No Room For Crime>, I didn’t expect ICAC 2024 will become one of TVB’s blockbuster this year. I’m so happy.”

Kelly Hopes to Win TVB Queen Twice

Kelly will also be busy as she will be appearing in two of TVB major production this year including, ICAC 2024 and Big Biz Duel <企業強人>. Kelly shared, “I have never acted in two major productions in a row. I am very happy. I really like to play strong female roles.”

In ICAC 2024, Kelly plays a pregnant woman and get to have a relatively easy filming experience. Kelly said, “It’s great to act as a pregnant woman. I get to hold out my hand and play on my phone. What about being a real pregnant woman? It’s not a good idea. Maybe later!”

As for winning TVB Queen, Kelly would like to win the awards for both her dramas, “I would like it for both and win TVB Queen twice from the two dramas. I need to have confidence.”
