Joey Meng Enjoys Vacation While Leaving Husband at Home

Joey Meng (萬綺雯) and The Way We Dance <狂舞派> star Babyjohn (蔡瀚億) attended a book recycling event together. The self-professed book lovers encouraged everyone to donate their old books so they can be reused for others.

Joey said that a career as an actress is extremely stressful and taxing. When she gets stressed with work, she would pick up a motivating novel to read to help her reduce her stress level. In addition to books, Joey said her husband also helps her de-stress, explaining that when she is unhappy, she would confront her problems to her husband, scriptwriter Chan Sap Sam (陳十三).

“I will discuss it with my husband. He understands how the activities of this industry operate and he sees things in its entirety. He usually gives me very suitable advice for me.”

Asked if Joey would ask her husband to cheer her up when she is in an unhappy mood, Joey said, “I don’t need to ask him. He has seen my face for so many years! If I’m unhappy, he’ll know just by looking at me!” Joey said when she is feeling down, her husband would take her out to eat a lavish meal.

Joey just came back from a trip to Germany, France, and the Netherlands with her girlfriends, leaving her husband at home. Joey and her friends first went to Germany to visit a good friend and then traveled to France for some shopping. Joey said that she will make up the lost trip with her husband soon, revealing that she will be going on a two to three-week long vacation with her husband.

Babyjohn, who won Best Newcomer at the Hong Kong Film Awards for his leading performance in the hip hop dance film The Way We Dance, said he loves to read, but has not been reading much in the past year due to his busy work schedule.

The 27-year-old also said he likes to go on trips and visit different places, but the one country he would always return to is Japan. “I’ve been learning about tea ceremony preparations for nearly two years now, and every time I learn, I would imagine that I’d be in Japan.” Commenting that Babyjohn seems to have a habit of enjoying elderly hobbies, he laughed and said, “They are very proper activities. That’s why I would also play soccer to balance it out!”
