Kate Tsui Hot Favorite to Win Hong Kong Film Award

The 27th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony will be held on April 13th. Best New Performer nominee Kate Tsui Tsi San went to a Chaume jewelry store in Central district to select diamond accessories to wear for the event.
Kate said that there will definitely be a celebratory dinner held afterwards, indicating her confidence in snagging the Best New Performer award. Kate is the hot favorite to win the award this year.
While at the jewelry store, Kate tried on Southeast Asian pearl earrings and a diamond bracelet. The jewelry were valued over $5 million (HKD).
Although dubbed as the front runner in winning the Best New Performer award, Kate said, “Since my parents do not want to give me any pressure, we will not be attending the awards ceremony together. I don’t want to dwell on the awards too much. Otherwise I will become too nervous!”
“However, [TVB] will definitely organize a celebration afterwards. This is the first time Linda Chung Ka Yan and I have been nominated as Best New Performer in the Hong Kong Film Awards. Whether we win or not, we should celebrate!”
Numerous female celebrities will wear sponsored designers evening gowns for the awards ceremony. Charlene Choi will wear Kenzo, Karen Mok Man Wai will wear Roberto Cavalli, Gigi Leung Wing Kei will wear Loewe, Miriam Yeung Chin Wah will wear Yves Saint Laurent, while the Master of Ceremony, Carol Dodo Cheng Yu Ling will wear Chanel.
Gordon Chan, the organizer of the Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony and also Chairman of the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild, mentioned that performing guests will include Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Denise Ho, Kary Ng etc. A Professional Spirit Award will be awarded to the late Lydia Shum Din Ha.
Honorary guests who will be distributing the award include Shu Qi, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Gigi Leung Wing Kei etc.
