Kate Tsui Still Believes in Love
In the currently-airing drama, Smooth Talker <以和為貴>, Kate Tsui (徐子珊) portrays a divorced housewife who is also the primary caretaker of her autistic younger sister, played by Tracy Chu (朱千雪). When reflecting on her role, Kate expressed that it was a refreshing and challenging role.
In the series, Kate divorces her cheating husband, played by Stefan Wong (黃長興). Although Kate has experienced romantic heartache in real life as well, she expressed that still believes in love. “You can’t fault someone just by association. There needs to be trust between people. Without trust, life will be too hard. I have always believed that you get what you give. If people cheat on me and I still persist, then that is just my fate.”
When further prompted whether she has met any bad men, Kate admitted that she has experienced this. “My attitude was developed from these lessons. I would take it as life lessons every time and improve myself. I mature from my setbacks and can only raise my sense of awareness.”
Will Not Force Herself into Marriage
Acknowledging that she has a childish temperament, Kate prefers mature men who have more experience in life and are more tolerant. Although Kate hopes to get married, the 35-year-old actress insists that she will not rush into an incompatible relationship.
“I remember a senior once told me that it is easier to earn money than to find a good man. It’s true; earning money is something within my abilities, but finding a man I can spend the rest of my life with is up to fate. To settle with someone not compatible with yourself will cause a lot of headaches. Reluctant relationships won’t cultivate happiness so it’s better to avoid them altogether. Besides, marriage is not everything in life. I have many other things to do.”
Currently single, Kate is instead placing all her time and effort on work. Although reportedly falling out of TVB’s favor, Kate indicated that she currently has not thought about leaving the company.
