Kelly Cheung Tested Positive for COVID-19 While in the US
During the holidays, Kelly Cheung (張曦雯) returned to the United States with her boyfriend, Mark Brunjes, to visit family and friends. Unfortunately, Kelly caught COVID-19 during this time.
As her symptoms were relatively mild, Kelly followed the CDC’s guidance and self-isolated for five days, retested, then self-isolated for an additional five more days. She shared on social media, “Although I got vaccinated, always wear my masks, and practice necessary precautions, I still caught the virus. I have no idea where I got it from!”
On how she realized she was infected, Kelly explained, “At first, I only had some cold symptoms, like runny nose and sneezing. I didn’t have a sore throat, didn’t cough, and didn’t have a fever. After a few days, I noticed that I lost my sense of taste. That’s when I knew something was wrong. Since my brother is a doctor, he planned everything for me. Prior to realizing I was infected, I met with my family for dinner. They immediately sanitized the entire house, and prepared a place for me to self-isolate. Fortunately, no one else in my family got infected.”
After returning to Hong Kong, Kelly is now busy filming new TVB drama, Drug Breaker <破毒強人>. Although she has since tested negative, Kelly continues to stay diligent and practices precaution to protect herself and her colleagues.
“If we are filming at a location with poor ventilation, I would wait outside until it is my turn to film. Even though it is quite tiring walking back and forth, it is better to be safe than sorry. When we go off-site for filming locations, I would not sit with the crew in the van. Instead, I would drive myself and sit in the car to wait for my turn to film. To this day, I still don’t know from whom or how I got infected. I’ve asked everyone I was around during that time, and none of them tested positive. No matter what, everyone should be careful!” Kelly exclaimed.

Ummm, how about when she flew in an airplane, waited at customs in the airport…?
Maybe she was wearing cloth masks, fake masks etc which don’t prevent Omicron from passing through.
Two words: international flight
I know how she feels. I caught it but I was nowhere near people during the possible times I got it. It makes you think how infectious it is. Then again my family who was around me for the two days I thought it was a normal cold didnt catch it from me.
