Kelly Cheung Learns from Seasoned Actor, Paul Chun
Kelly Cheung‘s (張曦雯) down-to-earth personality and genuine charisma made her one of the leading ladies at TVB in a few short years since her debut. Despite being blessed with all the characteristics of a goddess, Kelly did not earn her spot as a female lead at one of Hong Kong’s most popular television companies based merely on good looks.
While filming Legal Mavericks 2 <踩過界Ⅱ>, Kelly was seen chatting and focused deeply in conversation with veteran actor, Paul Chun (秦沛), during filming. Initially shy and nervous about filming opposite the seasoned actor, Kelly sat alone to study her scripts and was not very social.
She admitted, “There is a little bit of pressure, because I really want to do a good job and especially with Paul Chun. We have a lot of scenes together. He portrays the role of my legal mentor [in the drama]. So I asked Lesley Chiang (姜麗文) [Paul’s daughter] whether she could ask her dad to go easy on me. However, I really am excited about working with Paul. I want to be able to learn from him.”
After getting over her initial shyness and opening up, Kelly took advantage to diligently acquire some acting tips from Paul. Working hard and learning from seasoned actors to improve her acting skills, it’s no wonder Kelly won the Most Improved Actress Award in 2019.

I think Kelly’s acting is decent but they keep giving her the same kind of roles – very glamorous, beautiful, and good natured — pretty much her real life self. So it’s hard for me to judge if her acting is good. TVB should give her roles where she actually has to be “ugly”/eccentric/annoying/cruel/actually evil — basically something that gives the audience a chance to see a different side of her. If not, I always see her as Kelly (and not her character) when she is onscreen.
@boomer That is very true. Since she’s so matured looking perhaps tackle motherly figures or older characters or something that’s very different for her typical pretty self. Think Charlize Theron, she still creeps me out w/her MONSTER role. haha lol
@wm2017 lol are you really comparing some second bit tvb actresses to an oscar winning actress?
