Kevin Cheng In Talks To Film New Movie?

Currently back in Hong Kong, Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) was spotted meeting with director Alfred Cheung (張堅庭), which led reporters to believe that they are discussing a new movie collaboration.

In the last two years, Kevin has focused his career on the mainland Chinese market.  However, TVB executive, Virginia Lok (樂易玲), requested Kevin to return to the station to help with the ailing ratings. As he is still under the management of TVB, Kevin has no choice but to agree. He will start filming TVB drama Eye in the Sky <天眼> in May, sacrificing 25 million RMB and the opportunity to film two mainland Chinese dramas in the process.

To minimize his loss, Kevin may be trying to diversify his income stream while in Hong Kong. Earlier this week, he was seen chatting with local film producer/director Alfred Cheung. The pair reportedly was discussing Kevin’s new movie at an upscale café in Causeway Bay.

Afterward, Kevin shopped at an electronics store. With the help of a shop assistant, he spent a considerable amount of time looking and comparing the different dehumidifiers. When the staff realized it was Kevin standing before then, there was a small commotion inside the store. After he paid for the dehumidifier, a shop assistant then helped carry it to Kevin’s car. Perhaps used to the practices in China, Kevin tipped the shop assistant, only to be politely declined.

When reporters went up to Kevin to probe more about the details of his meet-up with Albert, he dodged the question and only said, “Wish everyone good health!”

Coincidentally, Elaine Yiu (姚子羚) was also in the shop to purchase a phone. When she saw the reporters, she walked up to them and asked which big star was at the store.

  2. The difference between a star and not a star;

    one has reporters walking up to him and the other walks up to the reporter.

    I find that very funny.

    I always have this impression Kevin has become quite skilled at dealing with people. And the shop assistant is also rather honest.

  3. Always the gentleman, Kevin has impeccable manners. Good to see him back again in the streets of HK, this time not in Sam Sui Po though.
