Kevin Cheng on His Cousin Vinci Wong’s Bankruptcy
As a father of three boys, Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) loves children and is the perfect ambassador for Hong Kong’s Po Leung Kuk, which is a charitable organization providing support for orphaned children. Kevin has been sponsoring children for many years, including children from Africa and Vietnam who have all grown up now. They continue to send Kevin Christmas cards every year. On whether he has received many letters of thanks through the years, Kevin admitted the children’s thanks are often heartfelt and genuine and encouraged others to sponsor children in need as well.
With his eldest, Rafael, almost six years old, Kevin hopes to bring him along to charity events and teach him about empathy and compassion. Not wanting to spoil his children, Kevin has his sons do chores to earn allowances. “I want them to understand there are a lot of things that money can’t buy, such as love or family.”
When asked about Natalie Tong’s (唐詩詠) success with her newly opened bakery shop, Kevin praised the tasty pastries. “I’ve congratulated her already. My wife and I have to stand in line when I visit her store! This proves Natalie has put in the hard work and I think the quality speaks for itself. People aren’t just buying it because the store is run by a celebrity.” On whether he thinks Natalie is filling up her time with business because of an empty love life, Kevin replied, “She is an adult. She can think for herself and manage her own life. She will do the things that she enjoys.”
Kevin’s cousin, former actor Vinci Wong (王賢誌), made headlines recently for filed for bankruptcy. When asked whether he will lend a helping hand to Vinci, Kevin replied, “We have a big family, so I wouldn’t even make it to the list. I’m just a small potato.” On whether Vinci has reached out to ask for financial assistance, Kevin said, “I don’t want to speak too much about it. Everyone will have to go through a process to think it through before taking this step. It’s not that simple.” If he is not offering help, will Kevin at least reach out to see how Vinci is doing? To this, Kevin responded, “If it were me, I wouldn’t want people talking about my personal matters. I would want space to solve my own problems.”
Although Kevin saw his cousins and extended family often when he was younger, he is quite distant with them now. “Isn’t that normal for every family? When people start to form their own families, they will naturally becoming distant from their extended families.”

Kevin have distanced himself from many of his close industry friends too. He wants to spend more time with his family. Which is a good thing.
