Kevin Cheng Teases Kenneth Ma About Being a Father
Touted as one of TVB’s Anniversary dramas this year, Kids’ Lives Matter <星空下的仁醫> has received an abundance of publicity. In addition to starring two TV Kings, Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) and Kenneth Ma (馬國明), the drama also sees the return of Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) and Hong Kong Film Awards’ Best Supporting Actress nominee, Catherine Chau (周家怡).
With the air date on October 18, Kevin and Kenneth excitedly took part in promoting the pediatric-themed drama. Kevin admitted that he lacks experience working with children, but fortunately is a father of two and has some tricks up his sleeve. Portraying a doctor for the first time in his career, Kevin expressed the storylines are very touching.
Kenneth pointed out, “Kevin was a little nervous, because he had to go home to care for his kids afterward.” Kevin responded, “You will understand in the future when you become a father.” When reporters teased that he should encourage Kenneth to start a family soon, Kevin said, “You can’t rush these things. It will come when the time is right. He knows he is not young, so it’s on the horizon!” Kenneth teased reporters, I’ll let you guys know when the time comes. You guys think I am rich like Kevin?”
Other costars teased that Kevin and Kenneth, who became good friends after collaborating in 2010’s A Fistful of Stances <鐵馬尋橋>, were the crudest artistes on set. To this, Kenneth joked, “That’s what an actor should be. Sometimes, you can be cool and stylish. Other times, you can be very unattractive.” Kevin chimed in, “We basically are two boorish men. It’s normal!”
Although female lead Linda, who has returned to Canada, was not at the event, she pre-recorded a short clip to support the promotional efforts.
