Kim Soo Hyun’s Agency Issues 12-Page Statement

Kim Soo Hyun and his agency Gold Medalist have been facing heavy criticism, with rumors and accusations from YouTube’s Garosero Research Institute suggesting he was a demon for dating Kim Sae Ron when she was only 15 years ago and subsequent mistreatment which led to her eventual suicide. Gold Medalist initially tried to directly communicate with the late actress’ family but was unable to do so. This week, they issued a 12-page official statement, denying various allegations.

Gold Medalist stated that rumors circulating about the company forcing Kim Sae Ron to compensate for losses, paying her debt within a deadline, or forbidding contact with other artistes in the agency were all false. They also denied claims requiring Kim Sae Ron to compensate for the damage caused by socially sharing a photo with Kim Soo Hyun during the Queen of Tears broadcast.

Additionally, the company clarified they never forced Kim Sae Ron to repay debts. “The company believed that Kim Sae Ron would be unable to repay the debts and in December 2023 the bad debts were written off. The two legal letters sent to her were simply legal procedural guidelines, expressing intentions for negotiation and compensation schedules.” It was also mentioned she should consult with the responsible lawyer regarding any debt issues and to not engage in discussions with individuals without legal authority. There was no restriction on her communicating with the artists under the agency.

The company also denied any involvement in defaming Seo Ye Ji, stating they did not plant false information with the media or pay for fake rumors to be spread. Although the manager responsible for Seo Ye Ji had already left the company, they contacted the company because they felt that the rumors were too ridiculous and asked the anonymous informant to stop spreading false information.

Gold Medalist emphasized the company has no connection with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who claimed Kim Sae Ron was married prior to her death. Gold Medalist called on the public to stop spreading rumors and to cease damaging Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation with unfounded photos and online articles. The statements made by the family of Kim Sae Ron and Garosero Research Institute at the press conference were not factual. For instance, the photos of a man entering and leaving Kim Sae Ron’s house was not Kim Soo Hyun. The company was also not heartless like the media has portrayed and did send a condolence wreath to her funeral.
