Kim Woo Bin Was Told to Have 6 Months Left to Live Following Cancer Diagnosis
In 2017, South Korean actor Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and was forced to take a hiatus to focus on his health. Fortunately, he made a remarkable recovery, despite being told he had “only six months to live.”
Kim Woo Bin appeared on talk show Zzanbro hosted by Shin Dong Yup to talk about his battle with cancer. The actor recalled that he was originally optimistic and would try to find the good in the situation. The actor recalled, “At that time, I hoped that it was all a dream, but I never thought, ‘What if I couldn’t overcome this.’ I thought that it was an opportunity. I have been very busy for 10 years. I have never rested, and God may have been telling me to spend more time with my family.”
It wasn’t until when the actor met his doctor that he finally understood the severity of his diagnosis. During the darkest part of his life, Kim Woo Bin shared that he was especially grateful to his family and friends who have been there for him and helped him overcome his illness.
Kim Woo Bin shared, “I want to share the prayers that I have received with many people. So every day before I go to sleep, I pray that miracles will happen to more families.”
Kim Woo Bin made a full recovery in 2019 and went on to star in 2022 series Our Blues and Netflix’s original series Black Knight. Most recently, Kim Woo Bin’s film Officer Black Belt was released on Netflix on September 13th where the actor was praised for his actioned-filled performance.
