Kitman Mak Shares on Kong Wah’s Home Habits
The 70-year-old Kitman Mak (麥潔文) and 62-year-old Kong Wah (江華), a couple who bridged an age gap of eight years, have been married for 32 years. They have a son and a daughter together. Their eldest son, Bryan Chan (陳耀淙), is a nurse, while their younger daughter, Chan Cheung-Tin (陳薔天), has followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a singer.
Shares on Marital Dynamics
Although their marriage faced challenges—most notably Kong Wah’s extramarital affair with actress Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯)—he eventually turned over a new leaf and was forgiven by his wife. Recently, Kitman Mak appeared on her friend Maria Chung’s (鍾慧冰) YouTube channel, chatting about her marriage with Kong Wah over the years.
Kong Wah left TVB in 2006 after his contract ended due to chronic back pain and depression, and ultimately retired from the entertainment industry. In recent years, the couple has joined Douyin to live-stream and sell products, later shifting their focus to singing performances to attract fans. “We sing twice a week now—it’s so enjoyable, like a parent-child activity,” Kitman said.
Reflecting on their relationship, Kitman admitted she never felt like she was “raising a younger man.” She explained, “Our relationship is very unique. He’s a traditional man who likes to take charge, and I’m okay with that. But sometimes, I take the lead. So at times, it’s a ‘husband-wife’ dynamic, and at other times, it’s ‘wife-husband.’ We complement each other and rarely escalate our arguments.”
Kong Wah Makes Breakfast
After their domestic helper passed away last year, Kong Wah decided not to hire another. She casually mentioned, “He doesn’t like having other people in the house. At home, he likes walking around without clothes on.” Luckily, the kids are grown up and take care of themselves, she added. “I’m quite spoiled—I often sleep until 11 or 12 in the morning. By the time I wake up, my husband has already prepared breakfast for me,” When Anita exclaimed with envy, Kitman added that she does her part by cooking lunch for him, saying, “We each prepare one meal—it’s very romantic.”
Kitman noted that her husband is also a neat freak. “Once, we had the air-conditioning unit repaired, and when the cover was removed, it was so dusty that Kong Wah took it to the garage to wash it rightaway. However, the technician praised Kong Wah. “Do you know how many men are completely useless at home? Your husband is amazing!’, which made her realize how lucky she was.
When asked if Kong Wah would return to acting, Kitman admitted that he feels disheartened. “I think he has an artist’s temperament. But you know, everything now is so fast-paced and lacks the same level of dedication, which disappoints him. Still, if the right role and script came along, something he truly likes, he would consider giving it a try.”

What is wrong with Asians and their misguided obsession about age gaps that are not even a big deal. He is 8 yrs older than his wife. It is not like they wed when she was 16 and he was 24 yrs old. That so called age gap should not be mentioned at all in articles.
Wonder what they will say about a wealthy Hong Kong man who married a poor black woman from Jamaica who is over 12 yrs his senior. Wonder what they will say about her.
He’s 8 years younger, not older. But I do agree that 8 year old gap is not a big deal as long they were not minors when they got together.
I would like to see him on the screen again. He was a good actor
