Koni Lui’s Life As a Single Mom

After seven years of marriage, TVB Actress Koni Lui (呂慧儀) and ex-husband Dickson Wong (黃文迪) announced their divorce in March. She dismissed any worries over her break-up with confidence that she will take care of her son well. Balancing her filming time for sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <愛·回家之開心速遞>, Koni makes sure to always spend her days off with her five-year old son.

Koni proudly shared a photo of her son dressed in full soccer gear while receiving an award. She captioned, “My little Mr. Soccer.” In seeing the speedy growth of her son, netizens expressed in surprise, “Little Crab has grown so much! What a clever boy! Make sure to love Mommy when you grow older!” They also laughed at Koni’s caption and likened him to the talent of popular Japanese manga Captain Tsubasa by predicting, “Will he become the future Captain Tsubasa?”

The 36-year-old single mom was previously asked on her parenting style, and she had adamantly rejected in being a Tiger Mom because she doesn’t want to impose such traditional strict parenting on her son. Hoping that her son can have a happy childhood, she would select a school that would enable him freedom to pursue his own interests. She also sought to decrease his electronic usage by constantly reading bedtime stories and playing Lego toys with him.
