Lai Lok Yi Involved in Car Accident
Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) was on his way to meet his mother for dim sum yesterday morning when a taxi rammed into the back of his car, damaging the bumper. Fortunately nobody was hurt during the accident, and Lok Yi promptly filed a report with the police.
Lok Yi was in the driver’s seat when the accident occurred, his girlfriend Nicole Lee (李潔瑩) accompanied him in the front passenger’s seat. As they reached Sai Kung’s Pak Sha Wan area, Lok Yi noticed a taxi approaching with quick speed. “The taxi was traveling very fast at the time. I had already stopped, but [the other driver] probably couldn’t stop in time. I looked into my rear view mirror and saw that he was speeding from a distance away. I immediately released my handbrake, and watched as he hit us!”
When asked if they had sustained any injuries, Lok Yi said, “No. We were very lucky. We’re both all right.” Lok Yi added that he had contacted the police. “I filed a report with them. It will take around $18,000 HKD to $20,000 HKD to repair the damage… For now, [the taxi driver] admits fault. Well he really is at fault!”
Lok Yi shared the news on his Weibo, posting a photo of the scene of the accident. In the photo, the hood of the taxi is bent out of shape, showing the magnitude of the impact. Lok Yi kindly pixelated the taxi driver’s face and his license plate before sharing the photo. He also wrote, “This morning’s unexpected disaster. [My car’s] pat pat was violently kissed by [this] taxi driver. The good news out of all of this is that everyone is fine.”
Lok Yi’s Come Home Love <愛.回家> co-stars left messages of support on his microblog. Florence Kwok (郭少芸) urged Lok Yi to be more careful in the future. Angel Chiang (蔣家旻) wrote, “My uncle, who is almost God-like, glad that you’re all right!”, making reference to their series’ running joke about John Ma’s egotistical nature.

Glad he’s okay!
Getting rear-ended is the worst, especially when you can see it coming. I was once rear-ended and I could hear the brakes squeaking behind me and I couldn’t do anything but brace for the hit. I was crying, even though no one was hurt and my car was okay too! lol
Woah good thing it wasn’t a drastic car crash!
smart of lai lok yi to have released his handbrake and good of the taxi driver to admit his mistake
