Laughing-Gor Going On The Silver Screen Once Again

Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Michael Tse (謝天華) accepted a radio interview with Eileen Cha (查小欣). Since Bosco was not around in Hong Kong earlier, he only knew that their drama, Lives of Omission <潛行狙擊> which starred the duo, had received victorious ratings upon his return trip back. Bosco felt that it was most important for the drama to receive good criticisms and for everyone to like it.

Bosco and Michael were both cited as the hot contenders for this year’s TV King award. Bosco expressed that he would be even more happy if Lives of Omission could win the best drama award whereas Michael revealed that TVB will starting filming for the movie version of Lives of Omission in September. The film will pick up directly from the ending of the television series. Michael also stated that he will reprise his role as Laughing-Gor for the movie.

  1. So who else besides michael tse from LOO main cast will be in this movie?

    1. Depends on who lives and dies at the end of the series.
I hope MC Jin makes it.

      1. I think MC Jin made it till the end of LOO. He’s in the funeral scene where Madam Jo supposedly die. She’s not in the scene so ppl are guessing she’s the one who died.

    2. I heard only Laughing confirmed. TVB might pull in some movie stars later like what tey did in Turning Point. When will they stop milking this Laughing.

      1. I’m afraid that after that, Laughing will be milked more.

      2. Agree with Fox. They might award him this year to promote the new movie.

      3. @lol: Not sure yet. Like in 2009 he was given 1 award only even that he has a movie.

      4. He won’t get it if the series after LOO has someone become the Wayne Lai Chai Gau of this year.

    3. Read that Joyce Tang won’t be joining for the Laughing Gor movie as she will be busy filming some TVB sitcom with Hanjin Tan.

      1. Yes Joyce said that TVB arranged her to be in the sitcom instead and Jazz character will send her character in GJ to study overseas.

      2. @Ah K – sorry I thought you’re talking about Joyce not joining GJ2

      3. was Joyce Tang suppose to be in Laughing Gor movie? I thought it was GJ2 that she can’t film due to schedule conflict …. Is Joyce Tang on TVB management contract? That’s just another poor decision-making by TVB again.

Telling Joyce to give up GJ2 over a sitcom doesn’t seem beneficial for her. Just like how TVB made Steven Ma give up the big Mainland production with Charmaine, Sheren and Hu Jun over ‘Lucky Father’ with Ha Yu and small potato Linda Chung. So stupid!

      4. *Oops sorry I meant Joyce Tang isn’t going to be in the Ghetto Justice movie! All these upcoming movies got me confused! *Sheepish grin*

  2. What do you guys think? Is “Lives of Omission” good enough to win this year’s Best Drama of the Year award? (Putting aside “Forensic Heroes 3” first obviously) Or do you guys think other dramas such as (inserts title) deserve to win? 😀

    1. I definitely think Lives of omission is the best drama SO FAR this year.

      1. Best series is GJ. LOO and TOT can fight for second best.

Other running series can be MWNS and FH3.

    2. Still have few more series. Maybe the best part is coming up next.

    3. LOO is definitely one of the best series this year! It went beyond my expectations. I like the feel that this drama gives off. Considering that the post-production period was cut short and the drama was rushed to air, I think everyone did a good job. It was better than The Academy series, which focused on training PC’s instead of undercovers. I found the latter more interesting.

GJ and 7 Days in Life are two other series I enjoyed. I think they’re more lighthearted.

  3. At the Moment Lives of Omission is front runner for best series…other contenders will be Ghetto Justice, The Other Truth and potentially Forensic Heroes 3 when it airs..

    1. I support GJ for Best Series SO FAR. GJ has an addictive storyline and good acting from everyone. TOT is quite good too with great cases such as the jury case and the police case. LOO is okay buy the storyline isn’t that addictive and the female cast are weak.

      1. Myolie and Sharon in GJ give great performance if compared to the acting of Fala and Kate

  4. Haha judging from these comments, I think “Yes Sir Sorry Sir” and “The Life and Times of A Sentinel” won’t likely make the cut for the Best Drama of the Year award?

I think either “Ghetto Justice” or “Lives of Omission” would win as these scripts are kind of less travelled for TVB and unexpectedly received rave reviews whereas “Forensic Heroes 3” may be good with the solid cast but it’s a drama that was already tried and tested from previous years, although the absence of original cast like Bobby Au-Yeung, Frankie Lam, Yoyo Mung, Charmaine Sheh, Kevin Cheng and Linda Chung may prove to be interesting to see how this drama series can stand on it’s own and maybe break away from it’s predecessors.

  5. I think The Rippling Blossom, Lives Of Omission, Ghetto Justic right now is in the lead for best drama. TRB aired in the beginning of the year but their ratings was pretty high also.

  6. Now this is like those Japanese way of drama series… 1 full series + 1 special + 1 movie then sequel in series + movie

  7. the quality of tvb drama this year very dissapointing, plus my long waiting Forensic3 changing cast, WTH.
LOO is the best one so far, lots of twists here and there, really impressive. now 10eps left, there has many possibilities to the ending.

  8. GJ and The Truth are the best so far. Laughing theme has been overused. Drama > movie > drama again > movie again. When will this end? I can’t even finish the 1st episode of LOO.
