Laurinda Ho Was Engaged for Three Years
Prior to socialite Laurinda Ho (超蓮) and actor Shawn Dou (竇驍) tying the knot in April, wedding rumors had followed them for years. It turns out that the paparazzi did indeed have an inside scoop, as the couple was actually engaged for three years!
In a new interview, Laurinda shared they were engaged since January 2020 with plans to marry that same year. Unfortunately her father, casino tycoon Stanley Ho (何鴻燊), passed away in May and she had to observe a period of mourning for three years. The pandemic further delayed their wedding. They used four months to prepare for their wedding in Bali, and Shawn took care of everything.
Apparently, Shawn’s proposal seemed very spontaneous as he had proposed to her in a very rushed manner with a ring that was only worth 20 Chinese yuan! He made up for it the next day, officially proposing with a 5.97 carat pink diamond ring. Laurinda was touched as she has loved pink since she was a little child. Also, her father had told Laurinda that when she grows up, the man that she marries must propose with a pink diamond ring. She explained that the size of the diamond also holds special meaning as her birthday is May 9, and 7 is her numerology number.
