Leehom Wang Wants to Be a Father Soon

Married since November, Leehom Wang (王力宏) is eager to become a father soon. The 37-year-old has performed tirelessly in worldwide tours, but eventually felt that the “road in music” is lonely, prompting him to tie the knot with family friend Lee Jinglei (李靚蕾) in November. With a love for children, Leehom is ready to tackle fatherhood next.

While attending World Vision’s 50^th anniversary in Taiwan, Leehom admitted that he has not seen his sponsored child in over seven years and did not share the good news on his new marriage yet. Although Leehom had the glow of a typical newlywed, he was unhappy over the intense public scrutiny in Jinglei. The media recently shifted their focus to digging into Jinglei’s mother’s background, in which Leehom immediately drew the limits.

Fellow Taiwanese artists and married couple, Blackie Chan (陳建州) and Christine Fan (范瑋琪), were also present at the anniversary ceremony. Seeing the celebrity couple take part in events together, Leehom also wished that Jinglei can accompany him more at future events. Although Jinglei attended Leehom’s concert earlier, her presence at large-scale events may take some time to transition as she is not a member of the entertainment circle.

Many friends were surprised by Leehom’s sudden marriage announcement and were not invited to his small, private wedding in New York. Blackie said that he only found out about Leehom’s wedding through the media, “Of course, it’s not a great feeling.” Leehom immediately apologized for keeping the news from everyone for so long. Blackie quickly forgave his good friend for keeping it a secret and issued his blessings to the newlyweds.
