Lisa Tse to Star in English Sitcom, “Family First”
Forging into new territory, TVB plans to film an English sitcom called Family First, which will be aired on the English channel Pearl. Although the cast has not been confirmed, it is said that Derek Mackesy (麥大力), who won last year’s See Me Fly talent competition, will be starring in the series along with Jessica Kan (簡淑兒) and Lisa Tse (謝嘉怡).
Approved for one season, the show will resemble sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <愛回家> with many characters. The drama will be helmed by producer Lincoln Lam (林肯), who had won recognition and praise for the successful TVB Jade drama Hong Kong Love Stories <香港愛情故事>.
Derek, Jessica, and Lisa are said to be in a love triangle. As the three artistes grew up overseas, they are the perfect candidates for the English-speaking series. Both Lisa and Derek are relatively inexperienced actors and have minor roles in Come Home Love and Doppelganger <雙生陌生人> respectively.
Family First is part of TVB’s strategy to develop more content for its English channel Pearl further, as it had announced at the Sales Expo. In addition, Pearl will launch a celebrity talk show hosted by Grace Chan (陳凱琳) and a cooking show hosted by Kelly Ng (伍樂怡).

what in their right minds they think that english audiences would turn to the low quality production of tvb?
I mean I get that they want to open another avenue of revenue for TVB. But dude, this is terrible for her. She has no opportunity to improve her Chinese if all she does is speak English.

Has anyone watched Lisa’s YouTube channel? Yes, English is her first language but her Scottish accent is SO thick that it’s very difficult to understand a lot of what she’s saying.
