Louis Koo’s Down to Earth Personality
After Louis Koo (古天樂) decided to open up his own production company, his charisma has multiplied. He seems like the perfect man- not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty, helping resolve big and small issues in the company, and taking care of his employees and partners. He is known for his filial piety towards his parents as well as a compassionate figure in the entertainment industry.
Louis has always been a hard worker but his one “flaw” is that he has never liked to do promotion and interviews for his work. Every time he would answer the media’s questions with blunt and short responses. Reporters have always told him to not be so serious and to answer lightheartedly.
However, Louis seems more relaxed lately. Last week at the premiere of his new movie A Witness Out of the Blue <犯罪現場>, Louis’ poise was noticeable. He spent the night joking about the rumors of his marriage to Jessica Hsuan (宣萱). The pair had first met at TVB and became fast friends. After 17 years, this is their first collaboration and the chemistry is still there.
Although they don’t see each other often, Louis praised Jessica for staying true to herself, “She has an easy going personality and it is very easy to develop a friendship. Everyone’s personality is a little different and there are times where you would be hesitant to say things for fear of misunderstandings, but Jessica is very direct and proactive. I haven’t seen her for years before this collaboration and nothing has changed. Sometimes if you’ve been in the entertainment circle for too long, your personality may change to adapt. As an artiste, it’s actually the hardest to be yourself.”
Jessica also complimented Louis, “I feel that anyone who loves animals must have a kind heart. Louis is very filial and is always willing to help others. I really respect him!”
