Louis Koo’s “Dynasty Warriors” Completes Filming
After five months of filming, the movie adaptation of Japanese game, Dynasty Warriors <真.三國無雙>, completed filming earlier. Producer Stephen Siu Jr. (蕭定一) hopes Dynasty Warriors would become one of 2018’s top movies of the year. To ensure topnotch quality, Stephen Siu Jr put in a lot of resources into the project, including flying the cast and crew to Japan for their outdoor scenes.
Set to play Lu Bu, Louis Koo (古天樂) was seen in full costume, including the famous feather headpiece. Since Louis bears a strong resemblance to Lu Bu from the video game, many fans expressed their excitement to see the movie in theaters.
Wang Kai (王凱) and Han Geng (韓庚) who will be playing Cao Cao and Guan Yu respectively, were photographed on their horses against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Dressed in an elegant white costume, Taiwanese actor Tony Yang (楊祐寧) plays Eastern Han warlord, Liu Bei.
Besides the male leads, the movie also boasts an impressive list of supporting actors including Ray Lui (呂良偉), Carina Lau (劉嘉玲), Lam Suet (林雪), Justin Cheung (張建聲), and Philip Keung (姜皓文).
Director Roy Chow (周顯揚) said, “Through the mountains and rivers, a thousand words are in my heart. It was a difficult [project]. I wish you all the best. Thank God! My actors and I have put in their best efforts for the performances. I dare say that this is one of our very important movies. Good take, let’s [keep] moving on!”

Ehhh impressive cast no longer intrigues me. All HK actors/actresses guest star in movies for extra dough, not because of the quality of the script. So it’s useless to know who’s in what.
I hope this isn’t going to turn into one of those style over substance movies.

Not to rain on people’s parades but Dynasty warriors/shin sangouku musou series aren’t exactly well known for epic stories. There’d good arcs in the games but not a whole lot. And the gameplay isn’t highly praised either so that kind of says something. I say that as a DW fan.
One of the few PS games I have played. 😀
I wonder what storyline will they use. In the game, there are many storylines, depending which location, mode, level and character you played.
Nowadays, these wuxia movies sell on big budget and special effects. Nothing to impress script and story wise. After some time, I get enough of special effects.
Wish for something like Hero. Excellent artistic work, mesmerising acting (Tony’s eyes and expressions), abstract story line.
