Mandy Wong Finds New Love in Big Muscle Man?
Mandy Wong (黃智雯) has been eager in trying to find a new boyfriend since being dumped one month ago by TSL Jewellery’s marketing director, 35-year old Anthony Tsim (詹文天). She seems to have quickly found a new partner, as she was earlier spotted on a three-hour dinner date with a man of large muscles, Hubert Chan (陳廷力).
She was introduced to her ex-boyfriend Anthony at a friend’s gathering in 2013, and the two dated for more than half a year. Their relationship progressed extremely quickly with Mandy’s eagerness, and she reportedly moved herself into his private mansion in Happy Valley. According to a close source, Mandy’s pushy attitude had led to a bad breakup.
The insider revealed, “Mandy was too impatient. She would head to Anthony’s house without letting him know beforehand, and that really angered him. Mandy’s friends warned her not to be so persistent, but she thinks there is nothing wrong with seeing herself as Mrs. Tsim. Her behavior was very high-profile, and she was finally dumped by Anthony!” The trip to South Korea earlier with Mandy and her friends was reportedly to help ease her emotions from the harsh breakup.
All of Mandy’s close friends, including Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Paige Wu (胡蓓蔚), and Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), have already found their Mr. Right. Having returned to a single status, Mandy’s friends were also on the lookout for good men to introduce. One afternoon, she and Candice Chiu (趙希洛) were spotted having afternoon tea in Sheung Wan with a big muscle man, Hubert Chan. Candice later left the café to allow greater intimacy between Mandy and Hubert. When reporters arrived, Mandy happily smiled and announced it as only a typical meal gathering.
Hubert had participated in the Mr. Hong Kong competition in 2007, but later returned home to Toronto, Canada, after an unsuccessful attempt. He recently returned to Hong Kong to work as a model and a film extra.

Really? How do you know? This is upsetting because I rely on this site for news.

Though Hubert Chan is only 5’10”, 150 lb., he is being described as “大隻型男” in the Chinese source. The translation is correct, though her English isn’t that good.
If the translator wants to describe Hubert Chan as “大隻型男”, perhaps she should say “Hubert Chan is a man with a good built”. He should not even be described as “a muscular man” if he only weighs 150 lb. A 5’10” male, weighing 150 lb., cannot be muscular. He should be tall and slim.
Could it be he may be so slim but so slim until everything is just muscle? That he looks so toned?
Yeah, you could be right if Hubert Chan is very fit.
I just looked at Hubert Chan’s photo again in the Chinese source, his built is quite similar to Ruco Chan’s. If you say Ruco is a muscular guy, you can also say Hubert Chan is a muscular guy.
Perhaps like Vincent Wong. He looks so slim fully clothed but take off his clothes, six pack. That sort.
agree with the statement about the original article not saying “muscular” but a 5’10” male at 150lb cannot possibly have arms at even 13 inches, if he does he must have chicken legs, and any grown man with arms less than 13 inches should never be seen in a muscle t-shirt or singlet or tank top, ’cause that’s a long way away from being classified muscular
vincent wong isn’t exactly muscular but he is better than the rest of the tvb population
Yuyu,
You are so naive if you really rely on this site for news.
The translators/writers are not going a good job. Neither is the editor whose job is to check and ensure articles are properly written before they are posted on the site. And there are only like 4-5 articles a day. The blame shouldn’t just be on the writers alone.
As long as the message in the article is still conveyed, it’s unnecessary to be so nitpicky over a few words.
I don’t know what were the other comments that were deleted and I don’t know if you were referring to my comment but I am not nitpicking over words. I am saying that there were instances when the entire message of the article was wrong. E.g Philip Ng does not deny marrying …, Joel Chan’s half marathon run, $100,000 became $1mil etc. These mistakes made by the writers/translators should have been caught by the editor before publication.
“Man of large muscles”? Hahaha … What an awkward term! Should it be better translated as “muscular man” or “well built man”?
I thought Elaine was still single?
hubert chan is very well built and handsome indeed…TVB should quickly sign hubert and promote him as well.. then netizens wont complaint if he dates mandy as we do not want same comparison of shirley yeung and gregory to repeat
Hubert’s proper English name should be HUBERT TRAN. I believe he is Vietnamese Chinese from Toronto.
As per Chinese source, after losing in “Mr. Hong Kong Competition”, Hubert went back to Toronto, but has now returned to Hong Kong to explore new career opportunities. He is 28 years old, and is now a model in Hong Kong. He has also been a guest star in Kong Yeuk Lam’s MV and a movie.
I found the following from Hubert Tran’s website:
“With a father that owned and operated a video store, Hubert Tran was introduced to film early on his childhood. The ones who struck a deep chord within Hubert were the actors Tony Leung, Andy Lau and Leslie Cheung. It was not until Hubert was in his mid teens that he finally decided to pursue acting as a full time career.
His first opportunity came when he was presented with an idol contest held annually by a local Chinese radio station, Fairchild Radio. The contest was called Sunshine Boyz and Hubert eventually won the competition. Riding off that accomplishment, Hubert made the decision to move to Hong Kong in hopes of realizing his dream of starring in Hong Kong films. Shortly after landing, Hubert was introduced to the Cantopop singer Elanne Kong and was quickly cast as the love interest in her debut music video 大眼睛 (Literally translated, Big Eyes). Soon after, Hubert managed to get a speaking role in the film 單身部落 (Single Blog). Within that same year, Hubert auditioned for Mr. Hong Kong and was invited into TVBs prestigious Artiste Training program.
Armed with a taste of the entertainment industry, Hubert decided to return to Toronto and enroll into the Acting for Film and Television program at Humber College and graduated in 2011. Since then, Hubert has made a mark in North America with credits in director Guillermo Del Toros latest flick Still Seas shot in Toronto. In addition to the comic turned television series XIII starring Stuart Townsend and Aisha Tyler to name a few. As an actor who is passionate about his Asian-Canadian roots, he is also the lead actor in the webseries Millions. (www.millionstheseries.com) Follow him on Twitter @HubertTran.

LOL………………..such a boring article
Bye bye early retirement
Lol Mandy doesn’t seem like the eager type to me, but I really don’t know anything of her love life. Media seems to focus on her career more, which is probably a good thing.

Things are often lost in translation and I have noticed that a number of articles here are not really translated but just summarized. When you go to the link and read the actual article, the contents are at times are pretty different.
