Mandy Wong Goes Braless in “Three Women, One Gene”
InThree Women, One Gene <三個女人一個「因」>, Mandy Wong (黃智雯) portrays the challenging role of a woman who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder. Unafraid of stepping out of her comfort zone, Mandy spoke about how she had to film multiple scenes in the series sans-bra.
Since one of her character’s identities does not like wearing bras, Mandy had to film a few scenes with only a shirt on. Although she maintained a level of professionalism when filming, Mandy admitted that she felt slightly awkward around the cast and crew during those scenes.
One of her personalities is also romantically involved with co-star Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪). However, this personality also likes to physically torture Benjamin by frequently slapping, hitting, and punching him. Although he complained that he has incurred many bruises and scratches from Mandy, Benjamin revealed that he secretly enjoyed those scenes.
Benjamin laughed, “I don’t know why, but I enjoy when people hit me. First of all, it looks good when her character hits my face – she would slap me without warning. She puts the right amount of strength into her slaps. The sound effect is good, but it doesn’t hurt too much. It feels kind of nice, so I want more of these scenes added into the series.”
“Daddy Dearest” Dropped From Broadcast Lineup?
While Mandy and Jason Chan‘s (陳智燊) comedy series Daddy Dearest <爸B有話兒> was originally due to premiere soon, it has been put on hold again. With no control over when it will be aired, Mandy said she trusts the company will make good arrangements for the series.
Although it is unknown as to why Daddy Dearest has been put on the backburner, Producer Poon Ka Tak (潘嘉德) said, “I don’t know but maybe it has to do with scheduling the different programmes. I don’t want to say much but I want to say that all my series are up to par. There are no fights and arguments about this and the company’s decision was made after thorough consideration. I support the company and I believe that it will be aired eventually.”

Why all the fuss about being braless when there can be in built support in some tops and there is no need for a bra? TVB is strange.
@elizabeth going braless doesn’t mean she has to show her peaks.
@janet72 I’m just saying its a big fuss to emphasise on the braless component repeatedly in the article as if it is a big deal where some women dont wear bras for years ever since tops have the inbuilt support. It is a strange way to attract attention to promote this series.
@elizabeth You must first acknowledge the high correlation between provocativeness and enticement. Then you would understand what the writer of the article is trying to do.
well… some people can go without bra and you wouldn’t even notice it.. so… But Mandy looks like she have some meat on her so must feel awkward for sure.
the headline is meant to titillate.
