Mandy Wong Signs with New Agency

Striking changes are ahead for Mandy Wong (黃智雯). After dating for more than a decade, Mandy married jewelry business executive Anthony Jim in October 2023. Shortly after, Mandy decided not to renew her contract with TVB. The 41-year-old actress announced she will is signing with Supreme Art Entertainment, which also represents Athena Chu (朱茵) and Ada Choi (蔡少芬).

Mandy expressed excitement in achieving new breakthroughs and stepping out of her comfort zone. “A lot of people asked whether I plan to take part in more stage plays. I have been acting in plays for the past two years which brought a new sense of accomplishment. I want to continue exploring this avenue and see what other breakthroughs I can achieve in this arena. However, I want to keep my options open to other opportunities and collaborate with different colleagues to see new fireworks. I am embracing a positive and open attitude for more opportunities in film, variety shows, reality shows, and new challenges!”

On being managed by the same company as ex-TVB actresses Ada and Athena, Mandy expressed, “Honestly, they are two actresses whom I admire a lot. We have some similarities and they are both considered my seniors. With Ada,  we both entered the Miss Hong Kong pageant. With Athena, we both graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. I am really looking forward to having the chance to collaborate together and see what sparks we can bring on screen.”

Although excited, Mandy also feels pressure in being lined up alongside Ada and Athena, who are noted for their acting skills and beauty. “There is a lot of pressure. How can they keep looking so good and beautiful? I have to continue working hard at singing and dancing, and to keep myself in good shape too.”

Despite being newly married, Mandy’s primary focus is on work. On whether this will cause any issues, Mandy confidently praised her husband for his support. “He is very supportive. I will take things one step at a time. He’s given a lot of ideas and advice too. He is a very intelligent person and is always there to help me analyze things. He is also a good listener and my soulmate.”
