Mandy Wong Won’t Give Brian Tse Any Advice
Since the affair between Jackson Lai (黎振燁) and Ashley Chu (朱智賢) was exposed, many artistes are being asked to comment on the incident. While attending a promotional event for The Exorcist’s 2nd Meter <降魔的2.0>, Mandy Wong (黃智雯) was asked about her thoughts on the matter.
As a good friend of Ashley’s boyfriend, Brian Tse (謝東閔), Mandy expressed, “Actually, after this incident came to light, I will not ask or share my opinion about it too much. I think this is the best way to help everyone right now. As a friend, I am giving him the space he needs right now, and let him take this time to think about how to deal with the matter at hand. I did contact him via text message to see how he was doing. I hope that after things settle down, we can meet up and have dinner to catch up.”
Appearing at a press conference recently to address the matter, Ashley blamed her unprofessionalism and inability to extricate from the character she portrayed on screen as the reason for the affair. Since Mandy is an experienced actress who has portrayed a variety of roles, she was asked how she felt about this reasoning.
“I feel that a professional artiste needs to understand and seek balance. You must be able to get into character when you need to [for filming], and get out of character when it is done and become yourself again. When I filmed Threesome <個女人一個因> and had to portray a character with three different personalities. I did experience not being able to fully remove myself from the character. It affected my mental state. Later, I went on vacation in order to relax and learn other things. I distracted myself a bit and stabilized my life back to its norm.”

I also remember in an article on here that Grace Wong after filming My Dearly Sinful Mind got severe depression because of her role as that crazy evil woman (one that I’m upset that she didn’t get an award for but oh well).
Ashley’s excuse isn’t a reason though. Mandy and Grace had played characters with some type of psychiatric disorder. Ashley was well aware she was having a fling with a married man.
