Marvel Adds 4 New Villains in “Shang-Chi”
After Marvel Studios announced the official title of the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and its main cast of Simu Liu (劉思慕) and Tony Leung Chiu-wai (梁朝偉) at the San Diego Comic-Con last July, fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates on the film. The day has come as MCUCosmic recently delivered some juicy news – Marvel held a casting call for four new characters.
They are said to be villains Steel-Claw, Moving Shadow, Razor-Fist, and Ghostmaker. The characters will reportedly join villain Mandarin, played by Tony, to fight against Shang-Chi, portrayed by Simu. Other than Steel-Claw, whose real name might be Tiger-Claw, the other three additions have made appearances in the comics.
Earlier, an audition clip for Steel-Claw was leaked online. According to foreign media, the actor trying for the role was The Dead Lands actor Te Kohe Tuhaka. The video has since been deleted, but in the clip, Steel-Claw had just heard news about Shang-Chi and described him as “the wonder boy who ran away” – referencing Shang-Chi’s escape from his father. Mandarin sent Steel-Claw to catch Shang-Chi, and at the end of the clip, Steel-Claw was ordering the soldiers to catch Shang-Chi.
