Matthew Ho is Impressed by Charmaine Sheh’s Work Ethics
Having just wrapped up The Queen of News <新聞女王>, Matthew Ho (何廣沛) shared that he misses the cast, especially working with Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), who went above and beyond to take care of everyone on set.
“I didn’t expect her to take such good care of her juniors. I’m starting to miss her! It’s not just me–all of the other cast said the same thing. The moment we finished filming, she left right away to work in China. I really admire her,” Matthew said. He is also inspired by her work ethic, “I never saw her check her script–she memorized it before we started filming. This is something that we can all learn from her.”
Entering post production, The Queen of News is expected to air at the end of the year. Matthew believes that the audience will like the drama as the story is very compelling. “I’ve fallen asleep while reading other scripts before, but this time I didn’t!” He also hopes that they can film a sequel, “The producer said there is a chance, but it would need a good script first.”
After Matthew sang his praises for Charmaine, reporters teased him to pursue her romantically. Matthew joked that many men also have the same idea, but Charmaine needs to be open to it. “I’m already very happy with our onscreen romance. She is very different from the authoritative character that she portrays. Everyone will fall in love with her–I don’t think it is possible for people to dislike her. I didn’t expect her to be such a nice person–she talks to every single person during filming breaks. She is very genuine and treats every colleague like that.”
Matthew’s next upcoming project will be filming for Extraordinary Prosecutor <非常檢控觀>, where he guest stars as Hera Chan’s (陳曉華) in one of the legal cases. The main cast will consist of Joe Ma (馬德鐘), Ricco Ng (吳偉豪), Winky Lai (賴慰玲), and Alice Chan (陳煒).

Looking forward to this. Can’t believe I am saying this about a tvb production.
@m0m0 haha yeah, one good series a year it seems like…looking forward to it as well.
I am sure Charmaine will open up when the right person approach when she is ready. Currently, Matthew does not fit the bill. Charmaine have to reason to open up to just anyone, she knows men too well…
Idk – they look kinda cute together and Matthew has a thing for older women. Why not. It’s fresh young meat for her lol.
But with the way he held her in the above photo – it’s obvious he doesn’t see her that way, even if his words say otherwise. It’s more of like she’s my big respected sis kinda message.
I wonder who will she date? Maybe she is dating but we dont know. Or she might be a happy single woman… No need for a man. Very common these days. Must be very liberating to be financially secure and emotionally strong to live being single for life… I cannot imagine living without my husband and kid
I know riiiiight. But I don’t think she wants to be single. She has always been very clear that she wants a worthwhile partner and she wants kids. It’s just the stars didn’t align for her, but from her words, she still has hope. And it’s not hopeless.
I was watching this comedy clip and the comedian was like, “I hate being straight because while I like men, I’m not attracted to them.” And I laughed because it’s so true for me.
So I can see why Charmaine has difficulty dating. Some women choose to be single and yes, they are very strong mentally and emotionally to go against the grain because they set their standards higher. I wish singlehood was celebrated more.
I feel Charmine has been in this industry so long, she have seen so many ugly nature of men around her, she is just so jaded. She cannot really date any simple guy as it would mean giving up her dedicated career. Few man who is not in the industry will deal with her absence well.
She is definitely not in a easy circle for serious dating. I do remember her comment about getting married and having kids…it seem to be a while ago. Wish her luck…
The concept sounds refreshing and exciting to me as TVB hasn’t produced any series on news broadcasters in the past 60 years. With a combination of strong leads and compelling script, this highly-anticipated drama may generate massive attention and viewerships to revitalise the floundering station.
