Michael Lai’s Colorful Dating History

After tying the knot in 2018, Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐) and Michael Lai (賴弘國) were never shy about sharing the sweet details of their marriage and often posted on social media expressing their love for one another. The couple even went on to a Mainland Chinese reality show to discuss how they overcame their differences to sustain their relationship. After only a year and half of marriage, however, the couple suddenly announced their divorce today, shocking many people.

Michael expressed that they had officially divorced in early March of this year. As to the reason for their split, Michael merely stated, “She no longer loves me.”

While Gillian is viewed as a “goddess”, Michael is also touted as knockoff Sunny Wang (王陽明) look-a-like. In addition to his good looks, Michael also has an appealing background with a successful career as a cosmetic gynecologist.

Prior to Gillian, Michael’s dating history boasts a large profile of extremely good-looking women. Before his marriage to Gillian, Michael was married for six months to online apparel entrepreneur Ivy Chao (趙筱葳) before calling it quits in 2016.

Michael was also previously linked to former actress AnGill Suan (陳瑋萱), who is not a fitness instructor. It was alleged that Michael broke up with AnGill after meeting Ivy.

Earlier in September, rumors began to swirl that Michael may be cheating on Gillian with popular Taiwanese social influencer, Ning Chao (趙寧寧). Although Gillian brushed off the allegations and proclaimed trust for her husband, perhaps this was the triggering point that led to the end of their marriage.
