Michelle Ye Compliments Kenneth Ma’s Personality: “He’s a Great Catch”
Congratulating Kenneth Ma (馬國明) on his TVB Best Actor award, Michelle Ye (葉璇) recalls working with him in the past and compliments the actor’s great personality.
Kenneth’s has worked at the station for 21 years and was nominated for Best Actor 12 times. Kenneth’s well-deserved win for his role in Big White Duel <白色強人> was met with a standing ovation and loud applause at the TVB Anniversary Awards. Beside current colleagues who were thrilled for the actor, ex-coworker Michelle also came forth to congratulate Kenneth.
“That night, I was having dinner with producer Poon Ka Tak (潘嘉德) and we even phoned Kenneth to congratulate him. To me, Kenneth has always been someone who was quiet and knowledgeable. Out of all the actors, he also has the highest level of education – that’s why he can get along with a lot of people. I’m really happy to see him do so well after all these years,” Michelle said graciously.
Michelle reflects filming Eternal Happiness <再生緣> together with Kenneth. He left her with a very good impression, although they haven’t stayed in touch since she left TVB in 2005 to later focus on the Mainland Chinese market.
With Kenneth’s good qualities and his current single status, Michelle was asked if she would consider dating the actor now that she is no longer attached. She laughed and said Kenneth probably has a lot of pursuers. “The more you talk about it, the more tempted I am. To be honest, he’s actually a good catch and I can only blame myself for not cherishing him when I was younger! I’m just kidding – we never dated when we were younger; we just collaborated for work. Even though I haven’t seen him in a while, I still have a very positive impression of him.”

Michelle Ye Leaves a Business Dinner After Being Forced to Drink
kenneth was in eternal love??? how come i don’t recall this
nevermind. he was the husband of tavia.
They were also in Triumph in the Skies I. Loved that series.
They were also in lost in the chamber and love and actually played a couple there
@holiday
Oh yes! Loved them together in there and it would be great if they do become a real life couple.
@hetieshou
I don’t Michelle and Kenneth will be a good real-life couple. Michelle is too smart for Kenneth who is a simple and down-to-earth person. Michelle was raised in a single parent family and has no confidence in marriage and family life, while Kenneth is very family oriented and a filial son. Their perspectives are very very different.
@orchid123
Honestly we do not know them personally so do not know how they really are. I do not think Kenneth is stupid either although he seems like a simple and down to earth guy. Just because her own family life growing up was not happy means that she has to have the same thinking for her own future family. Michelle has mentioned wanting to get married and to have kids. Therefore she is not someone like Do Do Cheng for example that firmly states no marriage and no kids due to her parents’ divorce. My late parents had a very sad and troubled marriage but I never once thought I will be the same way. I vowed to have a happy family unlike the one I grew up in. Just because your parents’ had a sad marriage does not mean you will too and vice versa.
Opposites attract and the couple that comes to my mind is Carina Lau and Tony Leung. Tony came from a single parent family and is different from Carina in many ways. They did not even like each other when they first met. I liked them on screen together and never thought they would end up together in real life. But it is dependent on fate and now they have been together for around 30 years counting dating and marriage time. They had problems along the way just like any couple but they worked it out and are still together after all these years. Therefore, you never know as fate works in different ways and occurs when you least expect.
@hetieshou well said! totally agree
@pandaxo
Thanks!!!
